You Can't Always Get What You Want...

... but if you try sometimes you might find... you get what you need. So, in the spirit of Mick and the Boys... ask and you just might receive, dear readers.
What would you like to see us talk about on the blog? What issues pique your interest and make you want to come back and check out what we're on about? Authors, musicians, actors, world leaders, philanthropists? Maybe you'd like to see us play Devil's Advocate on the bigger issues brought out within the context of the interviews on The Hour? How about a series of 'I hope that when this guest is on The Hour, George asks them this... '

We will always commit to bring you the What's Coming Up this Week on The Hour and when the Strombo Show Mach 3 launches Sunday, November 8th on CBC Radio2 we'll yak a bit about that too, I'm sure...

So... believe me. This will be quicker than a dinner time telemarketing survey and FAR less painful than a bikini wax. Please take a moment to contribute your two cents on the content you'd like to see us post here.

What do you like reading? What info can you not live without? What topics do you best enjoy? Keep it constructive, please. One thing you should know for example is that while we get the list of guests scheduled to appear a bit ahead of y'all, we can't control schedule changes. Because, after all, if we were that powerful - wouldn't we just put all our focus into guessing the winning 649 numbers? Yes, that was rhetorical.

In closing... thanks for stopping by and reading when you get a moment. Time is precious, so that you choose to spend some of yours reading our ramblings is an honour.

I have a question for the readers...
Are you interested in George's upcoming Strombo Show on CBC radio 2. Do you want a behind the scenes story on that?

Please, I would like to know more about the radio show. Is it going to be a live show or pretaped?...some cool pictures of the studio or news about George could be neat.
thanks, Barbara!

i'd like to know more about georges love life.

I owould also like to know more about George's love life. What type of girls he likes and if he is single :)

I can tell you that in my opinion George is married to The Hour and spends most of his time working on the show.
George might(I doubt it) have a private life and if he does, he may keep it to himself as he is entitled. He will tell the audience everything he wants you all to know ... He spends a long time with the studio audience answering questions and he tells the TV and radio audience a few stories from his life as well... he doesn't really owe us any more than that.

Well Barb, George is cute so we can't help but wonder if he has a girlfriend :) He has said he is single on the show though ...

George likes older women, is this true?

Barbara said...

We won't talk about his private life. He says he is 'your' boyfriend so just go with that... he talks about his weekends on the show. He mentions reading books, seeing films and watching hockey... much of that is in part, research for the show.

still wonder what kind of girls does he likes...
A game of 2/20 with George would be fun to do.

I have been told that he has said he does like older woman although I couldn't imagine him dating someone older than him since he looks younger than he is.

He said in an article once "kind humble commpassionate and has tattoos".

If you could use names or nicknames I can't have a conversation with anonymous it's too confusing.

Ok, I'll call myself Lolli - I'm the one who got the excert of the article where Geoge said he's looking for someone who is kind humble commpassionate and has tattoos - that was from 2006 though.

Behind the scenes or anything on the radio show would be great, Barbara!

I like what you guys are doing with this website - we can check in, see who's on this week, read some comments etc. Maybe more behind the scenes at the Hour if possible?

Good suggestions. Thank you for checking in on the blog. We'll can do something to that effect.

As to the other questions see my comment at 6:23 and 10:46 Oct 24th.
The man is married to The Hour. His mistresses are music, motorcycles and hockey. He has said himself he would make a lousy boyfriend. You might want to trust him on that one. He makes an excellent host though. And that is why we appreciate the man.

I love him as a friend, even if we dont know each others.

So... to get on back to the intent of this post. Does anyone have a comment or suggestion actually related to the show or the content you'd like to see us write about?
If so? Fire away.

As The Hour has made a few subtle changes to what we have seen so far this season, we wanted to know if there were some new/additonal things that you would like to see here. Would you like more focus on guests or perhaps a topic shown on The Hour debated by two or more of us? This was the sort of feedback we were looking for.

We truly appreciate that readers spend time 'with us' and we love it when you comment...even if we don't agree with a point of view! Last week we had over 3000 hits from places all around the globe...from Greece to the UK. That's pretty cool and we want to keep growing. Growth will come from great dialogue and interesting points of view on the 'now' topics and guests who visit The Hour.

I suppose, in varying degrees, everyone has an interest or curiosity about the private lives of famous people. I think my fellow bloggers would agree that this is NOT what our blog is about. Our focus is toward the various projects that George participates in and the variety of topics brought forward on The Hour.

I would like to know more about the radio show when it comes out. Is it pre-taped or live ? I know it is in G's basement studio, but since he works Monday morning, I don't know if he will stay u till midnight working. Athough, he doesn't sleep much anyways.

I want to know if they will accept phone calls like last time and if Bob will really be coming back !

Barbara said...

I am researching a post on the radio show now I think I will be able to answer all that next week.

I'd like to know about the people behind the scenes working on the Hour. Since they don't have credits after the show, my knowledge is limited to the occasional skit and seeing a lot of crew running around during a taping.

George is the face but there are a lot of people behind the scenes, it would nice to learn a little bit more about how the show gets put together, who the writers are, and how they determine guests.

Also, if possible it would be nice to have a follow up on past Hour writers...where are they now? like Niles, Hilary, Bob, etc.

Great blog! It's my go-to source for all things the Hour and Strombo Show. Thank you for all the time that you dedicate to this! Erin

I too would like to know what happen to past writers Hilary and Bob.

As well if Bob really will be a regular.

Will the show be live?

A few behind the scene photos of the home radio studio and the "crew" would be good.

I agree that is would be interesting to know more about all the uncredited people who work on the hour.
