Finally...Zombielopoulos!!!!

The Hour is still on "Summer Shuffle"
For the week of July 19th - 23rd

But first, for those of you hungrily awaiting for the North American premiere of George A. Romero's "Survival of The Dead"....well, you're in for a tasty treat!!
Our Strombo, appears in this film as a TV host (although I can't imagine him not wanting to appear in a realistic flesh rotting costume at least once!).
The movie will be shown at TIFF, but is also slated for an exclusive one week run at the Toronto Underground Theatre, for those of you that can't wait for the main course.

Strombo in the film that will open TIFF

Score: A Hockey Musical, will open the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.

The film will have its world premiere at a gala presentation on Sept. 9 2010.

Score is a Canadian star studded hockey musical. Directed by Michael McGowan. It stars Olivia Newton John, Stephen McHattie, John Pyper-Ferguson, Wesley Morgan, George Stroumboulopoulos (as announcer) Nelly Furtado, Hawksley Workman ...

It's about a 17 year old hockey phenom, played by newcomer Noah Reid, who wants his Canadian hockey dreams to come true.

TIFF director and CEO Piers Handling released a statement saying, "Score: A Hockey Musical captures key elements of Canadian identity — our passion for our national pastime, our unique musical style and our special brand of humour."

Hot enough for ya? The week beginning July 11.

For those who still think of our glorious nation as a wintery wonderland, let me assure you that it's not. Last week a large portion of Canada endured a heatwave. Boy, was it hot. Here in Southern Ontario we had temperatures mixed with humidex, well into the upper 90's and beyond. While we've had a brief break over the last few days, temperatures are rising again. Indeed summer is here and the 'summer re-runs' of both The Strombo Show and The Hour continue.

July 4-9 hot and lazy

Sunday July the 4th tune in for four hours of commercial-free music, from the known and popular to the new and unexplored. This Sunday they feature the Warped Tour. In July The Strombo Show will still be broadcasting or rebroadcasting the radio show while George continues his vacation in LA. You'll have to tune in to see about special July shows. CBC Radio 2 eight until Midnight every Sunday night.

A regular contributor to The Strombo Show, Rich Terfry who also has his own radio show on CBC Radio 2 was on the stage at the Jazz Festival as Buck 65 on Canada Day.
Also on Canada Day Strombo was at a concert given to Canucks in LA by Sloan (who wrote The Hour's theme song)
