Podcasts for you.
I invite you to join the jian.ca message board just to talk about subjects like this one.
Some of you know that Jian Ghomeshi has a little summer gig at Sounds Like Canada on CBC Radio One. You can catch it on radio one between 10am to 11:30am weekdays (or online).
Well, Jian loves you so much he and the CBC are offering podcasts of his interviews for free.
You can find them here ! You chose which ones you want to hear. You can listen to interviews with George Stroumboulopoulos or his friend Ben Mulroney or David Shore (who created 'House') and many more. Just in case you missed them the first time or want to hear them again. Don't you love free offers?

Podcasts are the best thing since sliced bread.
I sure hope they put up the Nkeo Case interview as well.
Glad they're doing podcasts, its hard to catch the show at work! Thanks for the link.
I wish there were podcasts for everything. Then I wouldn't feel like I miss everything!
For example what happened on the "Stroumbo" show this evening? I was at work. And myspace has been a mess all weekend!
Well Sarah, I missed most of the first half hour (I was downloading a podcast and lost track of time) so I agree about the need for strombo podcasts... We'll have to ask Jim nicely. It was only in the first half hour that George and Bob were talking. Besides talking about a contestant in crisis they were also telling the audience about the LA beach scene. For the rest of the show it was Jim Richards playing the best of the strombo show. Next week may go the same way unless the schedule allows George and Bob the time to do a real show. Here is hoping.
I'm tired of the best of the Strombo show. I wrote the station and suggested maybe they get Bob, Jeremy and or Alex to do it when George is busy. I like them a lot too.
Anyhow, Crafty you didn't miss much. I only listened to the first half hour and it was mostly George saying how great his television show was. So, if you liked "The One" you would agree and if like me you didn't then you just kind of thought he sounded a bit out of it.
Here's hoping next week will be a real show!
i like the best ofs. i listen online and since there are no podcasts, i end up missing the show quite a bit. but to be honest, i found this week's best of a little weak.
the one thing people on here might find of interest from the first 1/2 hour is that the nose ring removal was apparently his choice. the rest of it was mainly oh, what an exciting week we have coming up etc etc. and i thought he sounded just a tad pissy.
I listened to the first 30 mins (I'm still finding it hard to believe it was his choice for the removal of the nose ring, but hey, maybe I'm bias).
Sarah,
Podcasts for everything would be ideal.
Tocatta,
A show with Alex and Jim, or Bob would be great too. I really enjoyed the shows in June with Alex, thought that brought a little more humour.
668,
I agree, I think Stroumbo sounded a little out-of-sorts. But he's probably extremely exhausted....which is why, they should have more guests hosts.
Another disclosure I heard on the radio show was that Stroumbo waited four and a half hours in line in 40+ degrees c. last Monday on the Mexican side of the border waiting to come back into the U.S., with 4,000 Mexican Nationals, in order to have his working Visa validated !
Alice
ha ha.. i'm with you on the skepticism on the removal of the nose ring allison.
as for the radio show, more bob! i love bob.
Maybe George will enjoy Canadian winter more after spending that long waiting in 40c heat for his visa validated. Poor George!
Maybe the nose ring gets too hot... sizzling hot metal... ouch!
George was on ET Canada tonight whispering that he is 34 years old and it's ok that he takes out his nose ring. If I have this right George you turn 34 August 16th. I guess your just getting ready for it.;-)
For some reason I can't even name, I miss the nose ring. Maybe it's just the past I am missing...
Thanks for the tip Barbara.
I will be able to see it in 1 1/2 hours! I was wondering when ET Canada was going to catch up with "the news"!
Did y'all see George's bulletin on My Space? I just read it.
Thanks for the heads up Mellowlee! I will go get that bulletin now...
668 - re your more Bob on the radio comment, I agree. Bob is a good balance with George too.

Yes, I love free offers. Podcasts are great. And George is pretty good too. But Jian? Jian is an embarassment. Admittedly, he knows a great deal about music and does a relatively good job talking to musicians. But his interivews with most other folks (and in particular, one with James Loney comes to mind) are, frankly, terrible. He asks insipid questions, and he has no ability to empathize with his guests. Not to mention the prose he opens the show with, whch is usually either banal or offensive. Not good stuff. Hope CBC puts him back on a music beat - he's clearly beyond his depth. Sorry for the hateration - had to get that off my chest! But this is a George site, so I will close by saying George is alright, and am sure he will bounce back this fall (nose ring or not). ;-) Thanks.
Here are some links that I believe will be interested
