The place to get the latest news on what’s coming up on #Gtonight. Find out what Canada’s boyfriend is up to. Share stories, pictures, favourite tv and radio episodes.
Glad to see the show continuing on in the same direction. Random thoughts: *Pony girl - Hahaha *Lisa Ray - "Get over yourself! Beyond you, there actually is a world out there" *Paul Franklin - A force to be reckoned with. Also The National's: A New Normal - The Paul Franklin Story by Audree Lau.
*Paul Anka - Completely hip! *Yvonne Ridley - ? Not sure. Interesting interview. *Ariel Dorfman - Humbling, in so many ways. *Diana Krall - Meh. Same as Lisa Ray, only more relaxed. *Naomi Kline - Brilliant POV's. *Jeff Goldblum - Eclectic gentleman. *Samuel L. Jackson - Nice to see the man behind the celebrity. *Matt Damon - Awesome to hear the money getting into the proper hands through his H2O Africa charity. *Best Stories Ever - Hilarious, so far. *The News - lightweight...but that's the point. *Mile A Minute - It certainly is. *Opening skits - George can't act! Ha Ha. Awkwardness=funny. Welcome to Canadian humor.
OKAY.... I SO wish The Hour was on all year round!!!!
And...
I enjoy the openers and I like the concept of the show ending with a continuation of the opener. While I agree with Jenuine that George can't act, I believe that's part of what makes them fun...in a good way.
For the most part, the guests have been fabulous. To end on a positive note, lets just get the following out of the way now...
- The My Little Pony Collector...to each her own. Whatever floats your boat!
- When Lisa Ray visited I'm wondering if the crew had to widen the doorways so as to allow space for her overinflated ego?
- The Portrait of Canadians theme song remains awful...so awful in fact that Snickers (my German Shepherd) barks after about the third note.
On the UP side...the highlights for me...
- Paul Franklin...inspiring.
- Yvonne Ridley and Naomi Klein are two intelligent women. Those are the kind of women young girls should aspire to become.
- Paul Anka tells great stories. Fifty years in the fickle music industry...simply amazing.
