I really enjoyed the interview as well. They didn't talk a lot about her accomplishments, but that's what made it so interesting. You can go anywhere to find out what she done in her amazing life, but to hear her talk about her love, peace and death was very inspiring.

It was... I talked to George the night before he did that interview and he talked about how impactful talking to June was going to be.
Death, and an easy acceptance of death, were something George had a hard time grasping and he had a lot of questions about her views on it all...It was a very important interview for him as well as a privilege to him that she chose to give him her last interview.
Now again, this is my interpretation of what George was telling me... I'm not quoting him.

I think it rather unfortunate with the volume of negative commentary that occurs on this blog (particularly within the last 24 hours!), few have chosen to comment on the OUTSTANDING Callwood interview. I have read many of the comments on The Hour's blog. It would be nice to see more discussion here to balance some of the negativity. I thought it was the best interview George has ever done.

And Barbara, why do you think she picked him to do her final interview?

April, a guest blogger is going to post about June Callwoods interview soon.
Miss A
I was just thinking, if I was that age, dying and knew it, and had something to say about it, I would want to reach people of all ages, those that think about death now and again and those that are too young to have considered it yet.
Georges audience ranges from 14 to 64... somewhere in that range.
She seemed to enjoy talking to George so she may have had other reasons for choosing George. He's a fun 'young person' to talk to. Warm, kind and understanding...
Good choice.

The June Callwood interview was great. She is such an amazing person and was able to experess so many things I have seen people go through when they are dying. I have to admit I did tear up a bit a couple of times when she was talking though. I love how she has kept her sense of humour and could still laugh and enjoy life.
