The Strombo Show - Sunday, April 14th, 2013

The year was 1983 when Kelowna's Chris and Tom Hooper, and Kevin Kane got together and formed a band.  A guick glance through a movie guide and "The Grapes of Wrath" was born. They would release four albums together before splitting in 1992 (including a debut album produced by Tom Cochrane).  Fast forward twenty years and The Grapes reunite and release a new album, The High Road.  Listen to what they have to say as they chat with George and perform on tonight's Strombo Show.

The CBC recently launched a program to encourage Canadians to not only eat healthier, but to reconnect with each other and begin eating meals together again as a family.  Lisa Fender of CBC’s Live Right Now will be back with an update on the Bring Healthier Home program.

Remember this?

It's been 25 years.  Yes, really.  George will be revisiting Public Enemy's classic album,
It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back

It wouldn't be Strombo, of course, without the Magnificent Seven and a salute to Tom Waits.

As a special surprise to wrap up the show, George will tuck you in with some of The Beatles' most mellow tunes for The Big Lie Down.

The Strombo Show is on CBC Radio 2 Sundays from 8 pm  until 11 pm.  See you there.
