Sounds like George's got a great trip planned (or rather, unplanned). Thanks for finding this, Allison.
Bon voyage, George!
So thats what his new bike looks like. I am so glad he has the time now for this trip. Enjoy it George!
hmm... i've been thinking of learning how to drive a motorcycle myself. i just may do that. i've got a lot of places i want to go.
Tammy
I know it sounds like such a nice trip eh? Although I favour road trips more...I think it has something to do with my balance issues ;)
I can't wait to hear about the adventure home. The video footage is going to be fantastic. Looking forward to George's perspective "sans windshield"!
I'm sure he'll have an awesome time. Last year for school, we had to plan a music road trip across the United States. It wasn't too pro. Partly because we had to have two-page summaries of each "region".
I think it was pretty great being able to hear directly from George about this motorcycle trip instead of all the hype and heresay. I'm so glad that he's able to get back on the bike and finish his ride, he seems to find such clarity on the road, and I hope he does get to go to the Joshua Tree National Park, that's supposed to be spectacular. :)
Sarah,
I'm looking forward to seeing video clips as well, a good docu could come from it.
Hilary,
Have you ever seen Cameron Crowe's 'Elizabethtown'? Basically part of it is like the trip you planned. A track by track list of songs, I think the trip is very similar to the route George is one too. The movie is good, not great. But worth sitting through to get to the road trip :)
Alana,
I agree, nice to hear straight from the source. I was in Joshua Tree this time last summer, and it was beautiful. In Palm Springs the weather was literally 115, and in Joshua Tree it was 75, a nice break and what a drive. Red Hot Chili Peppers 'California' album is great for that ride.
Haha, double post. I didn't notice that.
I have seen Elizabethtown! Despite some bad reviews, I kinda liked it. And Loudon Wainwright lll was in it. Haha. That music/sightseeing trip would be such a good idea. Although probably a lot of work.
Alana, I also was in Joshua Tree National Pk. in late May and drove there from Palm Desert. It was a thrill to finally be there - I took some great shots of the landscape - the rock formations are
incredible and are given names reflective of their likeness!
Alice
sorry - reading back, my comment was meant for Allison !

Hilary,
I also liked Elizabethtown, and you're right, it would be a lot of work. That's why it would be great for someone to do it for you ;)
Hi Alice,
I took so many photos when I was there too. We went early morning so it was so peaceful and not to hot! I wish I could go back again, someday :)

i am jealous of the idea of visiting the two graves on his birthday. i spent my last birthday with social distortion in LA so i guess i can't complain...:)
Thanks for the link 668! Cheers!
That's a great story. Waiting for more. » »
