For those who still think of our glorious nation as a wintery wonderland, let me assure you that it's not. Last week a large portion of Canada endured a heatwave. Boy, was it hot. Here in Southern Ontario we had temperatures mixed with humidex, well into the upper 90's and beyond. While we've had a brief break over the last few days, temperatures are rising again. Indeed summer is here and the 'summer re-runs' of both The Strombo Show and The Hour continue.

Since childhood, I have been a fan of The Sound of Music. It disappointed me to learn that Toronto Born actor Christopher Plummer has referred to the film as "The Sound of Mucous". He'll always be Captain von Trapp to me...whether he likes it or not! :-)
