Hour Books: I Drink For A Reason

I Drink For A Reason is one of the latest projects from comedian David Cross, who is probably best known for his role as Tobias on Arrested Development. The book is a mixture of satire, wit and observation from the life and career of Cross.

The Hour Blog posted an exclusive excerpt from the book, leading up to tonight's interview on The Hour.

Cross had the audience laughing the entire time he was in the big red chair. Make sure you tune into The Hour for this interview.

More on The Strombo Show

The Big announcement

George has just made the announcement about the rebirth of
The Strombo Show.

The Spirit of Radio on

Sunday nights from 8pm until midnight
Starting Sunday November 8th

The Strombo Show will be four hours of commercial free music!
Most of it is George's eclectic music choices, in his own way!
There are no songs that need to be played for corporate reasons, only songs that need to be heard, because they are that good!
The Strombo Show will have 100% control of it's musical content.
Your song requests are of course, invited.
Feel free to send your discoveries to The Strombo Show.
There may be some form of audience participation, and there may be some filmed segments.
Not everything had been announced yet.

The Strombo Show will include Darby Wheeler (of The Hour), and Strombo Show veterans Bob Mackowycz Jr. and Mike Sullivan.

George will host some of the same guests he has had on The Hour
plus some pretty amazing live bands!

One thing that is unique to this CBC Radio 2 show is
George will be doing all this from his home studio!

Accept no substitutes! The Strombo Show is back on the radio!

Making a return visit to The Hour, author and journalist Mitch Albom.

If you are a fan of the hugely popular CSI: Crime Scene Investigation franchise, then you are well acquainted with the work of series creator Anthony Zuiker. At the beginning of September, Zuiker has provided fans with an all new form of evil. Level 26: Dark Origins, a never before seen multi-platform crime drama that combines a novel with digital media (hence the invention of the "digi-novel") and an interactive online social community. I have checked this out and as a fan of mysteries and thrillers, Level 26 looks awesome!

It has been my personal experience that it is often our youth who will lead the charge of revolutionary (and much needed) change. There is likely no greater example of this than Craig and Marc Kielburger, children's rights activists and co-founders of Free The Children. In case you are unaware, Free the Children is the largest network of "children helping children", with over one million program participants in over 45 countries around the world. Their mission is simple: "Free children from poverty. Free children from exploitation. Free children from the idea that they are powerless to change the world."
