May 29/2011 8pm - 11pm CBC Radio 2
The last Strombo Show for May 2011. We cover the first rock and roll song ever, and Calum's pick this week is bands from Japan, CBC Radio 2's Bob Mackowycz Jr stops in to play songs to inspire your Spring cleaning and a very special Beach Boys mix. The Magnificent 7 Countdown run down the week's best new music and The Blend mini-mix is our last mix from the nominees for Best Female DJ's from The DJ Stylus Awards, this week in the mix is last years winner Lissa Monet from Toronto, and Vancouver's Coco Fresh.
This is the last week of tapings for season seven of GST. You are in luck because there are features taped but not yet aired so there will be a good number of fresh shows continuing on all summer. Some shows will be the extended interviews of guests you may have seen in a shorter format interview including guests like Cory Hart. You can enjoy your summer then look forward to season eight going back to an hour long format this fall. I don't believe the show's name will be changing back to The Hour but you can secretly call it that if you like.
